I'm super excited about getting a tree this year, we have a spot in our house where we can easily fit a twelve footer. I'm also looking forward to the hilarity that will surely ensue when Pete tries to get the monster back to the house.

Yeah I made it like the year before you could buy them. Mine doesn't light up from the inside, but it's the correct size of the original. The ones you buy now are smaller and janky.

I drilled a hole through the foot and the shoe sole and inserted a floor lamp with a narrow post/wire and took out a section of it so the shade would sit right over the top of the leg. Then I covered the leg with fishnet, put a lace border around the top to secure it, and put the shoe on the leg then inserted the entire thing down over the post. I couldn't believe how perfectly it fit. It's like that lamp was supposed to have a sexy mannequin leg on it all along!

I'm pretty darn proud of it, and when I lived in Stepford one of the Mommies came and asked me to take it out of my front window. I left it up that year until March. They hated me in Stepford.

Mommies in Stepford were ridiculous. I never knew their names; they went by Maelyn's Mommy, Ryliey's Mommy, Peayton's Mommy, etc. and other stupidly named children's Mommy names. Day ONE they disliked me because I 1. worked. 2. had no intentions of quitting work to shit out more babies. 3. Refused to be Chloe's Mommy by name. I am REBECCA. Learn it, use it.

The leg lamp was just another reason to hate me. I made it easy for them by leaving it up 3 months longer than tackily allowed in the first place. The feelings of hate were obviously mutual.
